C. Ellen Hart makes drawings, paintings and mixed
media collage. A third generation artist in her family, Hart earned
her BFA in Painting at the University of Houston in 1985, winning
a Sarah Campbell Blaffer Scholarship Award in 1984. Since that
time she has exhibited in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois,
Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Texas, Virginia and Washington DC.
While living in the Washington, DC area Hart was elected
a Resident Artist at the Arlington Arts Center and a Fellow of Virginia
Center for the Creative Arts. Recently Hart’s
work has been exhibited at Gallery 3, Daily Review Café, Winter
Street Art Space, Blossom Street Gallery, and Crostini’s
in Houston, Texas and at Women and Their Work Gallery in Austin,
Texas. Hart is pleased to be living and working in Houston again
after several years in Washington, DC and St. Louis, Missouri.
